Finger Paint

I felt as if I reverted to my inner child self during the process of this activity. It has been a long time since the days of elementary school but finger painting enabled me to reminisce about childhood activities. As we age, we become consumed with “adult” responsibilities that we often forget to maintain our creativity and imagination from our youth. I tried my best to not think of what to paint for this activity but it was quite difficult to not illustrate a figure or object of focus. The sensation of the slimy paint gliding across the canvas with my hands felt soothing as if smearing butter onto a piece of toast. I created this piece with three colors (purple, green and orange) with some patterns. Some patterns I used were squiggly lines while others were spiral shapes. All in all it was a relaxing experience that allowed me to be disorderly yet creative and I enjoyed that aspect of this piece.
